Suicide is not an easy thing for both the victim and the affected. The negative impact of suicide results in mental, emotional, and physical instability to the family and friends of the deceased. In case suicide has ever crossed your mind, then don’t stop reading.
I have encountered testimonies of persons who were plagued with suicidal thoughts. Most of them pointed out depression as one of the big reasons why they considered suicide. In addition to this are low self-esteem, loneliness, and hopelessness. They felt like no one would understand them and if they did talk, then they’d risk ridicule or forced therapy sessions. Some felt their problems would burden others hence the silence and evasiveness. Others said their life was full of misery, lies, pain, betrayal, unfairness, and lots of struggle. Because of this, dying seemed like a much better option.
Despite the countless reasons to support suicide, have you ever thought about what happens? Have you ever considered how your absence in this world will affect those you leave behind? Are you thinking your friends and family will be better off without you? Maybe you’re hoping death will give you an easy escape from the problems of this world. If all these thoughts have or are crossing your mind to justify your decision, then you need to know the truth of what happens if you succeed in taking your own life.
- You need to understand your family and friends will NOT be better without you. The people you shared intimate memories with will miss you and will forever have an empty space in their hearts. That person you think will be happier or more financially stable when you’re gone, they will not live up to that expectation.
-One thing for sure is they won’t stop thinking of what they would have done to keep you breathing, or what he/she could’ve done to make your life happier. Your children, nephews, nieces, will be forever hurt as they continue with their lives. Suicide kills the self-esteem of those who once knew you. So, you not only take away one life but you also drag others into your grave.
- First, when the spirit leaves, you can’t re-enter your physical body. What you’ll face next is undescribable through the human tongue. Dear reader, demons are real. They are not your friends and they don’t have mercy, pity, or love.
Once your spirit is disconnected from your body, you’ll surely find yourself in a dark world where pain, wickedness, and death rule. I am not saying this to scare you but I am telling you the ugly truth. Where you’ll go after suicide is worse than all the problems on earth. It’s a place of torture, torment, and loneliness that has never been seen by humankind.
Furthermore, your senses as a spirit are increased 1000 fold. Therefore, you can’t help but feel, smell, sense the pain for eternity. The bottom line is suicide is a straight ticket to hell. And hell is a place you wouldn’t want even your greatest enemy to go to after death.
- Suicide is a sin, and whether you are not a Christian, you will, without a doubt, feel it’s wrong. As humans, we have an inner man, a side of us who is a spirit. Your spirit feels what the physical body can’t. Therefore, that wrong feeling you have in your gut, that fear you get when you pick up the pills or rope, that is your spirit person warning you of danger. When you die in sin, there’s no paradise or relief in the next life.
There are rules that govern human life. One of them is you shall not, by any means, take your own life or another’s. If you do, you are no different than a murderer since the result is the same, death. I am sure after reading this you are wondering where I got all this. Don’t worry. I have the proof of the Bible at my fingertips.
God made you after Himself because he loves you.
Genesis 1: 26 – 27
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Suicide is shedding your blood by your own hands (murder), and God doesn’t like that.
“Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image.
Revelation 21: 8
But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
Killing is wrong and God Himself said so because He loves you
“You shall not murder.
You are more valuable to God than the plants, insects, animals, and other creatures in the world.
Mathew 6: 26
Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
Then, if God loves me why do I feel this way? I have killed, assaulted, made people suffer. Do I deserve to live? Why do I feel like a failure, worthless, dirty rug, not good enough, poor, hopeless, depressed, anxious, fearful, restless, have bad luck, lonely, unloved, trapped, ugly, ………..Isn’t suicide going to take all these away?
Suicide will not solve anything. However, you don’t have to go through tough times alone. You may not have family, or friends by your side but there’s a real friend who sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24). Your heavenly Father has YOUR name engraved in the palm of His hand ( Isaiah 49: 16) and can never forget you like friends or family. He is with you through thick and thin, He was even there when the bad things happened and you thought you deserved it. Jesus Christ, who died on Calvary, is waiting for you to come to Him. He will give you rest and take the burden off your shoulders ( Mathew 11:28). You don’t have to handle the struggles alone. Since the time you were born, He was there, and He is still with you right now (Hebrews 13: 5-6).
Just remember ‘’And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.’’ (Hebrews 8: 28) Your dark past has a purpose, Your experiences have a purpose.
YOU HAVE A PURPOSE. Give Christ Jesus a chance and see your life change.
