His new chapter, short verse.

The murmurs rise as he moves past them, A surprised voice rises, " Ayaya! How is that possible? Is it true ma?"

PATH TO HIS NEW CHAPTER.

He remembers the past.
They remember it too.
Everywhere he walks,
He sees their eyes watching,
Murmuring among themselves,
Pointing to his direction with twisted mouths.
” Abee, do you see? Have you heard the story?”
A stranger’s face lights up in a nod,
as the storyteller begins.
He knows the story too well too.
His past, was dark and crooked.
But who is to judge?
His walks on,
Calm strides along the footpath.

The murmurs rise as he moves past them,
A surprised voice rises, ” Ayaya! How is that possible? Is it true ma?”

The words trail off with the wind,
Not to be heard by him.
He hums a happy tune while trekking the muddy path,
Happy to have left the past behind.
And very soon, this village too will fade with the past.
“Tomorrow,” he whispers, a vision of the city bus in his mind.
“A new life in the city. My new chapter is here.”
He smiles.
